LSD tranny identification

I need some help here.
I found myself in the situation to get a reman. tranny for next to nothing. But the problem is I can't figure out if its LSD or not. The id plate has been replaced by a plate that simply says "REMANUFACTURED". Can I tell visually somehow?

the part of the case where the differential is should be a bit bigger compared to the non-lsd dif.

the clean one is for sure a LSD, the dirty one should be according to the VIN tag.

Glad to see some progress

If it comes down to it I can always take my old one out and compare, but the two trannys are about 100 miles apart right now. I had forgotten about your pics Shawn, I'll pull them up on JMAXIMA's computer when I get to his house since the tranny is sitting in his garage right now.

the one with the "V" in the code is LSD. ALL VE's Auto and Manuals were LSD's

Cant you tell if it's LSD by just looking through where the axles connect to the tranny, and if you can see all the way through to the other side it's LSD and if not it's not LSD?

Good call James. Looks like I've got a non-LSD VE tranny sitting in the garage.

I guess my next question is; am I going to be able to swap out my diff to the new tranny. I wanna keep my limited slip

if i remember correctly the lsd diff is bigger than the non-lsd so it more than likely won't be swappable unless some fabbing was done.
