Maybe You Guys Could Help
I drive a `93 Maxima SE and i've had the car for almost 7 months now. The car has about 55K miles on and I think that it's about that time to get a new exhaust system. I wanted to get something that would give some performance to the car, but wouldn't greatly increase the noise level the car would be making. I was thinking of maybe putting a 2000 Maxima's exhaust on the `93, but i'm not too sure that it would fit the car. Also, does anyone know where I could buy the factory 5-spoke rims that come with the `95-`98 maxima's? Thanks for your help.
check out their website http://www.warpspeedperformance.com. don't know about the muffler, but I think flowmanster is a good brand, lots of V8 people use them.

now i have a question. if i were to get headers for a VG, could i have REAL dual exhaust put on fairly easily? i mean is there anything in the way that would need to be "snaked" around? i'm very close to selling my BMW and with my tax return i'll be able to get a maxima and put a CAI and exhaust on it.
thanks
with money anything is possible. the headers would have to be custom, but the only problem i would see with true dual exhaust is the lack of space on the other side because of the spare tire compartment. it would probably have to be "snaked" around the tire compartment to fit. i'd say a good muffler shop could do it relatively easy though, but expect to pay considerable $$$$.
$215 dollars to have my dual pipes run. The shop had to install the driver's side peice in two or three peices to run it and there is no room for regular mufflers on that side, you'd have to buy one of those small, round mufflers that look like they belong on a motorcycle, that's all there's room for! I couldn't afford the mufflers, so I had my dual exhuast removed. It's still straight piped and I still need a muffler! I'm leaning toward the 2000 SE muffler, Courtesy has it for about $180.

There wasn't enough room under my '89, I tried, had to send the flowmaster back. Only if you cut the spare tire well out. Hanging the muffler on its side would make it hang down too low and wouldn't look right. Again, you might get one of those smaller, round mufflers, then again one of those may make the Max sound like it has bumble bees in the pipes! But, if you run headers, FYI, you DO want them to connect at the flex pipe for several reasons. 1. You only have one O2 sensor! 2. By running the two cylinder banks together (to equalize pressure) then splitting the pipes, you gain more hp than running it completely seperate! There is enough room down the center of the car (where the exhaust runs now) to run two 2" pipes SIDE-BY-SIDE. They might hang down a little, but not much, then just run the left one (driver's)between the gas tank and spare tire well. That is another reason you want to connect the two cylinder banks before splitting them, since the one side will be a few feet longer than the other. Of course I'm just running one glass pack in the oem position w/out a converter, you could just skip the converter and resonater near the flex pipe and run a glass pack on each side of the dual exhaust at the back! Hope that helps.
