Winshield Wiper Problems
[SIZE=7][COLOR=Navy][FONT=Arial Black]
So, I was drivin home from work on Monday, and its snowin pretty bad. I needed the windshield wipers because the winshield was gettin wet. They were goin for a while, and then, "click", and they stopped goin. I chisled the ice off them and they still wont work. You can here the motor struggling...running and stopping, but they just wont go. Does anyone know what the problem could be and how to fix it? I think it might be the connection between the motor and the wipers, but I'm not sure.

yup.. there's some plastic pieces that hold the wiper rods together under the plastic cowl (the black thing at the bottom of the windshield)
those things are a PITA to replace. it's not hard, just hard to get to.. and be careful not to crack that plastic cowl while you're trying to get it off..
basically, you gots no wipers until the snow melts, or you can find a way to melt all the ice off that cowl so you can remove it. sorry man, it's a *****.

ugh...
i had this happen to me last winter. like matt said it's not hard to fix but it is a pain in the ****. iirc the parts aren't too expensive, so do it yourself & take your time. i ended up craking the plastic cowl. it's quite fragile so be careful. goodluck

thanks, im taking it to my uncle who's a mechanic on Saturday and we're going to fix it. He has a garage and the know-how, so it shouldn't take too long and I might be able to get the car back that day.
