Gas Milage after grounding VTC's!!!!!

Gas Milage after grounding VTC's!!!!!

Just wondering if it's normal for the gas milage to go down a bit after grounding your vtc's. Mine went down from 24mpg to 20mpg or so but the cam changeover is alot more prominent then it was before much like how my 2000 celica was so I'm just gonna keep them grounded.

I thought I noticed it too. But I didn't have the car that long before I grounded them, so that is not exactly a good comparison.

My gas mileage is down significantly since I grounded my VTC's. When I grounded them I noticed the idle went from smooth as silk to slightly rough. It's been about 2K miles since I did it and mileage is still down and idle is still rough. I may go back to the annoying VTC sound if it means my mileage is back up and the idle smooths out.

takes the car a while to learn. Mine didnt have a very smooth transisition.

Mines on a switch now, so if they start acting up at a stop light I can silence them.

Mine are so bad (with only 67K on the clock too) that they pretty much tick all the time. The idle is also rougher with them grounded.

I will be installing new ones, either before or after the 5 speed swap. I home to not have the kinda of fun that gowirelessnj had tho...

pics were impossible because i have no digicam exept for the one on my phone - instructions ? well tell you what ill do a write up on it in a new thread so when people search they can find it.....parts list will be included also, now that i tackled this job i can safely say (after i broke it) its not that hard just time consuming....
