I have a '94 GXE with an ailing auto tranny that needs replacing....I plan to purchase a new one from Nissan...I know that the SE Auto had the viscous limited slip differential, will the SE auto swap out with the GXE auto? I see no reason that it would be a prob, just wanted to take a poll and see what you think?!?!

thx

I do not think that the VE tranny and the VG tranny are interchangable. Check out this site and it should tell you: www.phoenixhardparts.com

The transmissions are not interchangeable, and Nissan does not have any new transmissions in stock: only rebuilts. Change the fluid every year and get a trans cooler, or you'll be replacing it every 3 years.

Hey Maximaboy just rebuild the one you have. The 93 models seem to have the least problems so you may want to look into one from that year. When you get yours rebuild use synthetic oil and get yourself a tranny cooler. Good Luck!!
