Tires!!!
whasssup guys? the other day we had a big snow storm and i slid into a curb and blew my front right tire. the wheel wasn't bent and allignment seems fine but the thing is i had just quit my job the previous week so i had almost no $$$. but anyways now i DO have some money but only enough for one new tire (i'll have enough for the rest in a few weeks) but i don't know which ones to get. i only want to spend maybe $70 or $80 TOPS on a tire and they have to be able to deal with ic winters here in missouri. u guys have any suggestions? i was looking at some bfgoodriches at wal'mart........

I'm in the same boat.
I just bought my Max 2 weeks ago and the tires on it are shot. They have plenty of tread but they are dry rotted. I too went to Wally World today to look at tires. I thought my 2 best options were the Goodyear evicta's (I think that was what they were called) and the BF's. Personally, I think I liked the BF's a little better.
i work at america's tire and have seen the goodyears you were talking about and i wouldn't buy them cause i have seen them and they wear out really fast and people don't talk to fondly of them...what kind of BGF's were they? maybe the radial ta or the precept i don't kno if you guys have those out your way..but anyways i would probably go with the bgf or if you had a place that sells some yokahama i would maybe see what kind of a price you can get for those...either way the bfg would be a much better pick of the two...hope i helped a little
go to tirerack.com
and check out the ratings and reviews..
It depends on what kind of tire you are looking for, all season? ultra high performance? tirerack has fair prices, same as everywhere else.

Tirerack.com does have pretty good reference info.
I know they aren't exactly performance nor are they "H" rated, but I went with Michelin X-One tires.
The have run well in the snow too.
I have run them for about 30K now and they look new.
The tread wear rating is terrific (620).

Not cheap though. You can find them at Sam's, etc. under a different "label" for less sometimes. Just look at the tread pattern and tire ratings.
I looked for best value over the life - not cheapest initial outlay or best "speed performance".
One tire dealer would not put them on because they are a T speed rating vs. H. (Speed rating is 118 mph vs. 130 mph)

When I bought my GXE, I had S-Rated BFGs on it. Ironically, those tires held up pretty well during one of the more severe Chicago winters on record. But now I am planning to switch to a more performance oriented tire that will give me the best combination of performance with bad weather traction. With that in mind (coupled with my driving style), I chose the Dunlop SP Sport 5000.
Originally, I was going to go with the BFG Comp T/A HR4
