yes another knock sensor question

Ok so I have checked through pages of threds but couldn't find much on replacing the knock sensor on a sohc 90 maxima. It is located by the exhaust manafold in the back of the engine by the firewall. I started by rasing the engine off the mount a few inches so I could reach it beter. Got the harness off, but a deep well socket won't fit with the motor mount in the way. I grinded the s**T out of the socket, shortened it, altered it many times, but it still wouldn't grab the sensor. Does the mount have to be removed? How many bolts are on it, and if anyone knows the size of the bolts that would be great, because it looks like I need a socket with a built in U joint. Any feedback would be great, or a link to the propper procidures.

is your knock sensor bad? if so that's very uncommon for VG engines. when i swapped my engine i just used some channel locks to get it off. took a bit of effort but i got it. what is your engine doing that makes you think the knock sensor is bad?

Consider replacing the harness as well, on the VE the harness is what really goes wrong.

Well my engine is still in the car thats the problem, the motor mount is in the way. I did find out that I need to lossen the mount and slide it over to remove the sensor. The car is stumbling on accleration and the ecu throws throws a knock sensor code

well maybe I'll just replace the harness and see if it solves anything, the knock sensor job on the ve is a beast

I really doubt it, it is right up against the motor mount, I was told even if you can break the sensor loose, it won't uncrew all the way without the motor mount repositioned.

ok it is in the back left by the firewall, start at the oil cap and reach down under the exhaust manafold and to the left of the motor mount. Its a ***** just to get a hand in there without almost slicing your whole arm I found it by following the sub harness wich is mounted next to the oil cap, its a fiberglass braided wire sheeth, and it leads right to the sensor.
