Auto Climate Control How-to finally ready...

I finally finished writing up the auto climate control conversion. Sorry it's been so long, I finally got a job recently and I was being lazy since it's a lot of stuff to write and think about.
It's on my how-to page with the rest of my stuff or directly at
http://www.geocities.com/cbmaxima/maxima/ACC/ACC.html

Geocities will probably exceed the bandwidth usage before too long so try back later if it doesn't work

good luck to anyone who tries it, it's a lot of work but very cool in the end

This is cool and I should consider doing it, but there is one thing I don't like about the climate control.

You cannot have the defroster and the low (foot) heat on at the same time. Its defroster alone or any other combo. In this climate you sometime need a little defroster and heat too.

Craig dude....you are an electrical god! I have always wanted to do this on my SE, but was afraid of the problems that can arise. Now I am gonna give it a shot during spring break, all thanks to you!

Once again, HATS OFF TO CRAIG B.!

lol looks like it's already maxed out.

I'll mirror the writeup here:
http://ghettomods.net/ACC/

edit: I've got everything but the enlarged photos mirrored. When geocities comes available again I'll get those too.

Try not to rape the T1 pleeze

Is it its own button? My Control looks just like Craig's pic above.

thanks guys, good luck finding the parts and with the conversion - if you get it done, let me know. I'll be interested to see how many people actually do this. Like ntjoe said, it is a huge job, but it can be done if you have time and the right parts.

todamax - both auto and manual climate control have that feature. On the manual, there is a button (second from right) that show defrost and feet. On auto, you just put it in manual mode (press the mode button a few times and you can select an option with the feet and defrost together). I just went out to my car and confirmed it.

awsm - does that part look right about the thermo control amp? I kinda forgot what you said but I think I got it right in there

I wonder if my Climate control is broken. I know for a fact that if it is on defrost, if I pick *any* other option including manual it moves to that option and turns off the defrost.

It is good to know that its not supposed to work like that. I may look for these parts for a future project with my SE.

Thanks!!!

actually I am glad you said something about that. I was going to email you but forgot. You said pre-92 in your write up but its pre-93 actually or 92 and below. My black car is a 92 and it didnt have the thermo control amp.

ah, you're right. I knew what I was trying to say but I messed it up. I think I said pre-92 and 93/94 in there. So 92s are left out I'll fix that
