favorite quality?

I'm bored and was wondering why all you people own and love Maximas. Do you like it for the room, the decent power, comfort, body style? Just throw out your favorite aspect of the 3rd gen max.

For me, I know its not the fastest car, and it can't out handle a lot of cars (in stock form) but the body style and good power of the VE make me love my car.

The car is a perfect rounding of everything; it's sleek, and sporty, but not too flashy, it's got plenty of power, but still gets decent mileage, it's good sized and roomy, but still handles well, and damn is it comfy. It's most definetly a well rounded car.

I should also mention that it's very useable as well 4 doors and plenty of trunk space make it a very useable. My only complaint is the lack of a folding rear seat, but it's such a minor complaint......

Price, Interior, build quality, exterior looks (4th gen looks like a family sedan IMHO), I had a spare engine in my garage and other parts, knowledge of the car, etc.

I love the features even though you always forget about them.

Features...features....features......Almost unbelievable to think that Nissan was thinking up things like white-face gauges, ABS, heated side mirrors, leather seats, power seats, dual-setting auto tranny, power s.roof, fogs, button-release trunk, Air Bag, Auto climate, nearly 200hp V6, etc. etc. etc, to ALL be put in ONE car! You'd be hard-pressed to find another maker offering all of that in ONE model. I LOVE MY MAX!

Actually you can't find a car made in the same time (early 90s) period with the same features and price. The only one that comes close is the Taurus SHO and I think most of you know what kind of quality that one is going to be...and the SHO is a factory "special" car that is in limited quantity and still doesn't have all the options of the Max.

Honda, Toyota, Chevy, Dodge (Chrysler), Mitsubishi or VW doesn't have a car that equals or betters the 3rd gen Max as a front wheel driver 4-door sedan. Even if they could match interior luxury (like Acura) they don't have the hp or things like VLSD.

You have to get into much more expensive rear wheel drive cars (BMW, Mercedes) to have the same luxury appointments and power as a Maxima.

granted it is not cheap$$$ to build up the max, but its roomy and still quick. my buddie has a 87 supra, just as fast, and handles better(when i was stock), but the damn thing is a sardine can lol.

now that i have a 93 vg engine (blew the last one), a nice tranny and lowered etc. i smoke him all day and still get to drive with the little creature comforts that other cars dont have.

oh yea, when we are side by side at 140mph cruisin, im the one that never over heats. i can hold it up there as long as i please, he has to slow down before he blows that rat box up (oh yea, the max is pleasing to look at. his car is like an ugly baby, you dont say anything but you try to look away lol)

cruising side by side at 140mph??? you got a death wish or something? I know it a rush and all but when you think about it, its just plain stupid. Hate to sound like I'm preaching here, but think about the consequences.

Me too. I've liked the Maxima's for years and with a little boy and one on the way I had to dump the small GST for something 4 door. Still happy, although I miss the 5 speed turbo.

Yeah that's another part of the reason for the max, it has to also be able to haul m3k when the van is in the shop.

Besides you can always add a turbo and a 5 speed if you really want.....

heck I already sound like there's a turbo underhood. still have to figure out what's making that noise.

The Luxuary, the room, the boxy body style, the heated mirrors, all the options that was chosen, and the V6 motor... Not just any engine, but a non-turbo'd 300zx!. SHWING! haha. And, have you ever really thought a 4 door automatic sedan can look this hot?... Neither did I until I got the maxima.

on the highway at night with no traffic is not a death wish. doing 115 in a 35 is!! its not about the rush its more about the car. a rush is trying to keep up with a porshe that passes you like your standing still (even at 120) but you keep up cause you can outdrive him in heavy traffic. its nice to let the car run once in while.

maxima is sort of a "nexus" of racing heritage of nismo, calsonic, etc, with creature comforts and economy. a well-designed body style with practicality make the car a winner. you can tip it to the skyline side of life, or keep her a grocery sedan.

You can't find a car today w/these options for under $18k. & I paid $3k for mine. Besides, It's not a civic. Those things breed like rabbits.
