- well let me just say... FIND A WELDER

- the self tapping "bolts" ripped right out of the holes, after a day.... (maybe i did somthing wrong)..
- i didnt make the holes to big,i didnt under tighten... maybe i over tightent them... (whatev
-but , a friend of mine helped me weld them in place,
i only replaced the right side.. cuz.. "if it aint broke dont fix it" is what ppl have been telling me my whole life

48 bucks.. def. worth it.. if they hold forever..

That is what I would do, just to know I have the best holding possible.

Hmmm... what size drill bit did you use?
I haven't had a problem or heard of problems with anyone else's yet.

In my write-up I made sure it was a 7/32 drill bit. Come to think of it, drilling them in was a chore to make sure i was forcing pressure directly from beneath it.

It may be a chore, but it's easier than trying to find a welder!

FYI, if you go to a muffler shop on a slow day and ask if they can weld them up for you, they'll usually do it for a couple bucks. I have yet to pay more than $5 for a quickie weld job like these. but you gotta have them on there already. you can't just drive up there with the parts in a box and say "Can you install these for me"

mount them using the screws supplied, then when you drive by on a wednesday afternoon and see that the guys are welding stick people out of exhaust scraps to stay awake... Drop in and ask if they can do 30 seconds or welding for you.

yup agreed. I would definately bolt them up then call a few shops and find out how busy they are and go down and have them weld them up as well. I can guarantee they will never come off again

get 'em welded definately, i have the same brackets that come in matt's kit, i will bolt them on in addition to the welding when i buy matts links and have the self tapping screws(i welded the new brackets onto the stock bracket and the frame)..these things arent goin' anywhere, ever..sadly in the process i murdered a brake line (slipped with die grinder when cleaning off the area..that was an interestingly slow drive home) so be careful if you're doing the prep work.
