Mustang 17x8 wheels.....pls. check weblink and suggest...

Guys

Asking for help, suggestions again. Here's a link for some 'stang wheels on eBay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2461102684

Specs are 17X8, 5 LUG, 4.5" bolt pattern, 30mm offset.

Price is da*n low as you can see. Will these fit? or is 8" too wide for our wheel wells? I don't want to scrape anything in tight cornering. And I don't want them sticking out either.

Also, my suspension is all stock. What size tire would make them fill the wells nicely? 245/45/17 or 245/35/17...or some else entirely?

A lot of questions, I know. But any help will be appreciated as always!

Alright all....Jeff dude I did read the FAQ's, but the ones you have on 4dsc. That explained it well. But you know, it is human nature (or should I say, poor student nature) to double and triple check these things before sparing the dough.

Yours look super classy...are they 17s or 18s? And what size tire are you running? I do not plan on dropping my car, so will these rims with 245/45/17 tires leave a big gap?

As for the pony caps, i can get any caps i want on eBay for about $10 for 4.

Thanks all y'all!

Thanks Jeff! I can see how the 98 spokes can clear the Z calipers much easier

Very nice Max Tim. Impressive list of mods as well.

(Adds pics of SVT wheels to archives.... )

usmanasif, you might have problems running the 245 size tire in the rear. Seems that it rubs on the outside slightly. 235 is safe though.

uhhhh, I'm 99.9% sure those aren't 2000 cobra wheels, those look closer to the 02-03ish cobra's. The 2000 Cobras have smaller spokes

99 Cobra. 02-03 Cobras use a 9" rim and went to 18s.

i never meant they wouldnt work but imo i think it is tacky to put a stock wheel from a totally different brand onto another one i just think even if it is a nice wheel like those it ruins the look because people are gonna go "why is there a ford wheel on a nissan"

I think the wheels look pretty damn good. Plus if like he says, he is going to replace the center cap, most people won't even realize that is a Ford Wheel. besides i know its a ford part but i don't care 'cause its still sexy

Not all of them have the Mustang pony. Some only say SVT, and some others (like the Cobras Jason Rose have) say nothing at all. Very slick.

I think it's tacky to spend a grand on wheels/tires from Enkei/Koing etc.. only to have some riced out Civic have the exact same wheels. At least with these wheels, we don't have to worry these rims will be on the neighbor's civic sportin' neons.

Correct- '99 and '01 Cobras were the same style. As far as tires go, 235/45 are the ones to run. I still have minor rubbing issues in the rear, especially on the passenger side for some reason. Having a passenger in the backseat almost guarantees some rubbing during cornering (I am running 235's and Eibachs).

As far as the SVT centercaps go, I think they look good. Very few people recognize them as Ford wheels, but those that do usually have only nice things to say anyways

Thanks y'all!

The only reason I am leaning towards 245's is that I have stock suspension and don't plan on dropping the car in future. I just want a tire that will nicely fill the wheel-well (better than the stock does). I hate it when cars have cool wheels but the gap makes them look like they are on jacks!

I am looking for well-priced tires now, so please give me the absolute final word (w/pix if possible) on 235 or 245 tires. Remember, I ain't droppin it!

There wont be a noticeable difference in wheel gap between the 235's and 245's. The 235's are the correct diameter for our cars.

Just a quick question about the 245's. Is the rubbing only in the back, or would they rub in the front also? If they only rub in the back, would rolling the fender lips take care of it?
