Master code keyless entry (Aussie RHD)
Master code keyless entry (Aussie RHD)
I got a max from my grandpa and as he is getting old his memory isnt serving him well, hence he cannot tell me the code for the keyless entry. Ive searched the forum and followed one set of instructions to get the master code. This involved finding the controller box that had the master code on it. However, as the car is Australian its RHD and so im not sure of the location of this box. If anyone has any idea how i can reset the code it would be greatly appreciated.
ok i had to do this once myself and the control box for the lhd is all the way to the right hand side of the car and up in the dash. u have to get on your back with a flash light. i think the box is like a metalic color not plastic or anything and it has a couple numbers on it i forget which number u need but if you have the write up it says. But so im asumming with your rhd it will be all the way on the left side up under the dash when u go under your dash look up and to the right it should be their i hope. remeber to bring a pad and paper with you or a helper to remember the number because im a moron and i kept forgeting the number so i was going back a forth.
there was no metalic box under either side of the dash, however, i did find a gold coloured box about 20cm x 8cm x 5cm in the boot, perhaps being an australian model this is where it is positioned. This had 2 different sets of numbers on it one in red (##### ##E##) and one in black (###-####). Does this sound familiar at all? Also, once i have the master code what is the proceedure to reset the code on the door as i have heard mixed reports?
This may help http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/...ub/message/575
after an extensive search, which required getting in the boot again to make sure i had the right numbers, i found a 3rd set of numbers (### ### #####) on a pinky/redish panel on the box (which i can now say is silver, not gold, thanks to my trusty torch!) I also visited both the above pages and followed their instructions in attempting to reset the code. The problem i had was that none of the sets of numbers i have start with a letter ('s' apparently). I tried every possible combination of numbers i have and nothing...no constant tone. I'm not sure whether being an australian model is contributing to the different looking master code and possibly also the process involving the reset. Any ideas?

If you don't find it there, then check the same wall on the driver's side of the car.
Do a search or browse for the procedure on how to reset the code (unless you have the owner's manual which describes the procedure far better than I can).
Aussie model same as NZ model. Here's the info you need:
1) remove the corner dash trim between glovebox & left hand door (easier than trying to look at it from underneath). There's about 5 PH screws & you may have to drop glovebox. Behind this trim is the controller - it's metallic silver.
2) On the controller will be a sticker with a 7 digit code possibly with an S in front of it. Write the code down & re-assemble trim.
3) Close all the doors and:
a) Press the start/clear button on keypad
b) enter the 7 digit number. A beep will sound for 6 seconds
c) enter a 4 -7 digit personal code while the beep is sounding.
d) after your personal code has been accepted, the beep will sound at short intervals.
e) if the code entry has been unsuccessful, no beeps will be heard
Note that you cannot use sequence codes or where all the digits are on the same button. I.e. 1-2-3-4, 1-3-5-7, 1-2-1-2, 3-3-4-4, 7-5-3-1
If someone randomly pushs buttons to try and enter the car, system will shut down for 6 - 30 seconds. If you remove car battery for approx 20 days, personal code will need to be re-entered.
Print this out & put it with car ownership papers!
