Where Is The Coolant Temperature Sensor?

I'm looking for it but I just don't see it. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough or I'm severely overlooking it but I dont see it. I have a 91 Maxima (VG) and I know it's adjacent to the distributor but I don't see it !! Can somebody help me out on this one? By the way moderators when I get an answer for the question I'll erase this thread because I know it's a waste of space. Sorry

its on the back side of the coolant inlet pipe (metal) on the left side of the engine bay. my connector is yellow so it stands out pretty well, but there is no telling what color yours is.

The wires coming from the temperature sensor are green and black, not too far from it there are two harnesses connect together, taped in with those two is a male unit but it isn't plugged into anything.

Is this normal? If not what does it plug into?
