Quick aftermarket alarm question

If I get an aftermarket alarm, would the stock alarm have to be removed/disabled? I don't want the stock alarm conflict with the new one. I would guess the installers would know what to do, but I thought I'd ask here first. Thanks in advance for any response.

They will have to bypass the factory alarm. If you add a keyless entry with light flasher and all that, they can just add that to the factory alarm.

But I am not an alarm expert. Craig B. could help you a lot more. He is the quintessential electronics god

Depending on who installs it for you, and how competent their skills are, all they will need to do is integrate the factory security system into your aftermarket alarm. I've been doing those things for the better part of 15 years, and it's not an altogether hard process - they (meaning the installers) would just need to find the wires specific to arm/disarm your factory security system.

If you need to know wiring or any of that, feel free to hit me up on PM - always glad to lend a hand!

or just unplug the factory alarm like I did.

When I did my CS remote start alarm it had an arm and disarm wire that went to the factory alarm.

thanks for the response fellas, yeah i don't really trust circuit city's installers. when they installed my headunit, it was kinda crooked. i had to go make it look even myself.

Nubiannupe, thanks for the help. i'll PM you if any question arises
