Mileage

Hi,

can mileage affect a car?

kinda common sense there buddy . yes, the more miles, the more problems you'll run into. plus there's the usual maintenance stuff (belts, sparkplugs, etc)

Not if you have a VE 5spd, mileage are just numbers with this engine. Like someone said, at 200,000 miles the the engine is just breaking in.

Hi,

i don't think this is the same thing for my engine,

that is a vg 4spd

yeah, if your vg engine has a 4spd there might be sumthing wrong. Could be just me tho

4 speed would mean he has an auto, although i guess you could say the auto's are a 5 speed since they have the torque converter lockout which lowers the rpm a little bit.

cars start wearing down with the more miles that are put on them. if taken care of the car will last much longer. the vg engines have been known to last quite some time as long as proper maintenance is done like oil changes and such.

timing belt every 60,000 miles, spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap and rotor. those are the main things that are usually replaced to keep it running a while. the timing belt is the most important one. to be safe it must be changed every 60,000 miles. if it breaks, the majority of the time you'll bend valves in the heads and that's not cheap to fix.
