I have a strange case of shaking that occurs between 60-90mph, then goes away above 90mph. It's not the rotors, they're new. It's not the balance, I just had it done. What could it be?

 

alignment, cv axles, tranny (worst case scenario) bearings, cant think of anything else my mind went back

u know i have a similar problem except it does it once i turn on overdrive. i have brand new tires, new control arm, new axles and a new tranny from a '94 GXE. but this vibration even did it when i had my old tranny and it still does it when i swapped it out with the '94 tranny. after i turn on the overdrive and step on the gas it stops and when i cruise it'll come back so i let go of the gas and then step on it and it goes away. it only does this when i activate overdrive though. so up to this point i still don't know what the hell it is???

 

On my winter set of wheels one of the tires was flat to i just used a bunch of fix-a-flat and its been fine. But that stuff made my car shake from 65-75. I didnt want to get a new tire cause they are just winter tires.

 

Tranny and tires have been checked and they are least probable to cause this. Axles aren't busted either. Alignment is moderately off, so are the bearings because there is a slight humming noise. I don't want to change bearings yet since it's expensive and noise still tolerable.

I was wondering if there's a known specific problem that causes shaking in a certain speed range?

 

CV shafts may be on its last mile. usually the tires cause this/ balance.... but if you are sure its not tires then check the CV's. easy to replace not much money. my mech did them for me $160 each side installed. 1/2 hr to install each side. thats the only other thing that causes this at certain speeds
