QUESTION------------
18 inch wheels, 40mm offset, 235-40-18---will it WORK??? Im looing at 7.5 and 8 inch wheel widths... Comments welcome! thanks!!!

yes, 235/40/18 will work on 7.5 inch rims. im not sure the offet of my rim its around 35 i think, they are limited 800s. the back is very close to the strut. and the front rubs a little when the wheel is turned all the way.

 

i wanted some 18x7.5 with 225/40 tires....will they rub with a 2 inch drop?

 

225/40/18s with a 2 inch drop shouldnt be a problem, not positive it will work, but the front will be fine with it im sure, my front with my 235 has more then 2 inches of wheel gap. and being a 225 tire it should have no problem tucking, but you could deff fit 225/35/18 with no problem.
