Thing's I've gotta do to my car :/

repairs that would be nice to do if I had the money

- Replace CJ joints (they pop everytime I turn the wheels)
- Replace the seal around the moonroof (it moves when I change speeds, the wind resistance does this, also big bumps makes it move causing wind noise)
- Replace the VTC (again. had it rebuilt almost 2 years ago and it's making that awful ticking noise again)
- Fix the door locks (they work when they want, mostly work when it's cold but not when it warms up, wtf?)
- Replace the transmission (it works mostly well, just some days it has trouble shifting gears smoothly, it likes to slip)
- Replace the arms on the hood (cold days it doesn't want to stay up and slams you on the head if not careful)
- Replace the window tint on the front passenger window (was scratched when the pully/wire failed causing the window to fall into the door)
- Get some good fog lights put back on the damn car! Also replace those awful SB9004 bulbs with something a lot brighter, they suck.

Other than those things, it's a great car. Here's some pics

looking good! what model year wheels are those? A few suggestions:
- remove the sunroof shield thingy and see if that helps with the noise...just a thought.
- hood struts are cheap at autozone...~$35 for the pair. Better than having your head bashed in.
- courtesyparts.com for foglights..give them a call.
- door lock acting up is most likely door lock timer..get part @ j-yard...or from the maxima.org classifieds

Yeah man nice lookin max...those rims are tight! Here's a suggestion for your VTC's: next time you change oil go to your local Toyota dealership (yes, Toyota) and pick up the 90915-YZZA2 oil filter. It's way small but it quieted my clackin VTC's down quite a bit.

Welcome to the Org!

Thanks guys for the advice. I have heard about that toyota oil filter trick, just I haven't really gotten around to trying it out, I'll give it a go tomorrow (or today since it's 1:40am). I don't think removing the roofguard will help with the wind noise problem, because if I hit a large bump or the like, it makes the window shift, like it's not set right or something, I always have to jack with the damn thing when driving on a windy day too.

I suppose you checked your transmission fluid level and that's not the problem?

I'd fix the cv axles -- they're only $60 at auotozone w/a lifetime warranty -- it sounds like they're pretty bad and you don't want one of those going at 65, etc..

Yes, transmission fluid was changed 3 weeks ago, that's not the issue.

lophix - sorry I didn't catch this til now, the wheels aren't Nissan, they're Konig Reign's, bought em in 2001.
