Question-Can you put dual exhaust on a 3rd gen max?

I wanted to put a dual exhaust system with maybe 2 aeroturbine mufflers on my max. But I wanted to know if it will fit? Does anyone have a dual muffler system on their max?

i thought it was seamax....not sure but you have to bang out the spare tire well to make the muffler fit, so that means no more spare....

I saw a car that had dual exhaust but the second muffler was mounted sideways and then the pipe curved out to the rear and there was a tip on it... looked like you could wedge that between the bumper and the spare wheel well without losing space for the spare tire if you really had to have a second muffler...

-Would there be enough room to put 2 mufflers(may have to be round ones) side by side in the stock location and then run separate pipes to each muffler?

I know a few years ago flyry110 (sp?) had dual exhaust with round canister mufflers. I think he had to bang his spare tire well a little, but not enough so that he couldn't fit the spare in there, it was just lopsided. It was awhile back. I was thinking of going duals at some point down the road, and using smaller piping after the spilt so that you have a little more wiggle room for the left side (ie 2.5" catback split into two 2" or 2.25" pipes going to two mufflers). It's just a pipe dream for me at this point though (no pun intended).

i had double dual exhaust on my first max but it was off due to the spare tire molding, but both exhaust worked great.

I use to run dual mufflers on one side (stock location) with no prob, plently of room.

I split the exhaust after the cat using two 2 ¼ mandrel piping running parallel to each other all the way back to the stock location, and used two stainless steel (5 x19”) round mufflers. I think I lost some torque, but I believe that the top open benefited some. The car was loud as hell. Im currently running a straight 3” down pipe for an exhaust, and its quieter than my pervious set up was.
