Engine Flush -To do or not to do-

Hello, I was wondering... I want to use some Engine flush to clear out the engine on this Maxima I recently purchased.. I have a few questions.

1. I wanted to do it so I could rid the engine of any non-synthetic oil it might have in it(I'm buying it without knowing what kind of oil was used in it & I want to use synthetic) So I'm going to buy 2 quarts of flush, and a few quarts of oil.
Flush, put cheap oil in. Flush, Put in synthetic.

2. I want to clean out the engine

..Now I've heard some bad things about flush(clogs up your fuel injector)
..And good things, What are you guys opinions on this? Thanks!

Personally I only use seafoam and marvel mystery oil.

When I bought my car, I used the Amsoil engine flush. It is a very powerful solvent, and thin. I took off the old oil filter, put a new one on, and then poured the Amsoil flush into my crankcase. This prevented me from having too high an oil level and ensured that all of the grime would get caught by the filter. After I drained the flushed oil, I opened my oil cap and noticed that all the varnish on the upper part of the engine (that I could see) was gone! So, I highly recommend this approach. Maybe you could run some Seafoam through your intake manifold first, as that will cause lots of carbon buildup to go into your oil.

Flushing your crankcase will not plug your injectors. If oil is going all the way into your injectors you have BIG problems. You might have heard that fuel system cleaner that you put in your tank will clog the injectors or mess them up. Just do what MrGone said and buy some seafoam and follow the instructions on the bottle for the fuel injection system, and Mizeree_X makes the amsoil sound like a good crankcase cleaner. This will get the upper and lower part of your engine sparkly clean, good luck.

ATF and Kerosene (sp?) make good engine cleaning detergents too, but I wouldn't run them for very long (well kerosene that is, infact just scratch that one).

Seafoam can go into the crank case, intake manifold, and gas tank. MMO can go into the crank and gas, just dont put it in the intake. hehehe. Well you can do a MMO bath by putting a small ammount of it in the combustion chamber and running the engine (mainly works great with rotarys, but you should see the ammount of carbon on the side of your pistons).
