Help - idle and accelerationg
Maxima 91 SE (120K) need help:
About one month ago, after I washed car and put gas treatment at a warm day, sth is wrong with my car.
Symptoms:
1. After I start engine for 1-2 mins, the idle speed decreases to 500rpm and car shakes for 30 s and it looks like to stall, but it does not install and idle speed increase to 1500rpm.
2. After I shift gear from P to D (or stop before traffic light) and depress the accelerating pedal, the engine can go to 2000 rpm, but car does not move until a few seconds later.
during the past month, sometimes symptom 1 happens, sometimes, symptom 2 happens, sometimes they happen together.
Do you think this problem is relatied to washing car or weather?
I would appreciate you your any suggestions and help.

Thanks for your reply.
Could I change O2 sensor by myself and use gas treatment to clean injector?
But I have no odea about the vacuum.
Yes, I changed my own O2 sensor last week. You will need an open ended wrench, anti-sieze to put on the new threads of the new O2 sensor, and connect. The hardest part is re-routing the wire to the harness. Took me an hour cause the Bosch comes with an extended wire harness.
Yes, use Chevron with Techron fuel system treatment, and buy the bigger size for SUVs and trucks, cause the smaller one only treats up to 12 gallons, we have a 15+ gallon tank for the maxima.

Thank you again for your kind help and time.
Does the Manual tell us how to change the O2 sensor? Otherwise could you let me know the steps?
Also I need change my temperature sensor, last winter my car is alway very cool because it need 30 min for temperature hand to move the middle and warm up.
Is it easy job?
Good night,
Sure, its an easy replacement.
Put the front of the car on jackstands. Then go under and remove the O2 sensor (silver cylinder with a wire sticking out of it which is right before the catalytic converter, which is under where the transmission selector would be in the car, but directly underneath. Undo the old O2 sensor, and unplug it from the car which is near the firewall. Just follow along the wire and you will see the harness.
Apply anti-sieze to the new O2 sensor threads, insert into the exhaust pipe before the catalytic converter, and guide the wire to where the connector is at, connect and secure the wire along the frame. YOu're done.
