Had my Pacesetter STS and BlehmCo RSB Links installed today (long)
Got up early, went to my mechanic's at 8am and helped him install the above items. I'm actually glad I had him do the STS, because it would've taken me forever without a lift and I would have become extremely frustrated. Like I read before I bought it, the Pacesetter is notchy but not overwhelmingly so (IMHO). My mechanic thinks that greasing the crap out of the ball doesn't really help, it is more a matter of not tightening the 3-4 nuts that hold the shifter mechanism in place super-tight. I climbed in the car on the lift and he adjusted the tightness of the nuts and the notchiness decreased accordingly. One thing that concerned him was that now the rubber bracket that holds the shifter up in the car now takes the brunt of the shifting force, and might fail over time. Anyone ever hear of a polyurethane replacement, or maybe look into making one? *cough, Matt, cough*?
The sway links went on hassle-free. Quality is excellent. I had him weld them on in addition to the screws. No more horrendous-sounding clunks when I go over bumps now. All in all, a good day for the Max. There is a dent on my b-pipe right at the 90 degree bent after the resonated section, but there's not much I can do about it. Down the road I will replacing my wheel studs and doing my brakes. First I need some money

Hehe, do the ultimate 3rd gen max shifting mod like I did. I had an extremely worn rubber mount that cracked off and left the shifter laying on the cat heat shield! Try driving down the street to a friends house (that has a welder of course) while steering with your knee/using the clutch, holding the shifter assembly with 1 hand and shifting with the other!
Anyways, I just welded a steel plate in place of the rubber mount and it is 10x more precise. There is, of course, a lot more vibration in the shifter but it's not really going to damage anything. I'll try and get some digital pics in a few days.
