My car hesitates when I hit the gas pedal. It jumps and jerks then eventually the gas starts a flowin. I noticed it seems to do it more when going uphill.

I looked at the sparkplugs and didn't notice anything, and I replaced the fuel pump about two years ago so I dont think it either of those two. The engine sensor lite came on so I kind of think it an O2 sensor.

Oh and the sparkplug tips were white -Ashy really. Suggesting too little fuel. Am I right?

 

I think you are right. When a car is running lean the motor and exhaust are hotter and it makes the plugs white. If you go to http://images.cynikal.net/mr2/litera...les/sparkplug/
