Radiator Cap with a higher pressure rating?

I was just looking around and found out the Nismo radiator cap is rated for 18.2lbs while the stock one is rated for 12.6lbs. I know the higher pressure the higher boiling point, but still.

Thoughts?

Unless you're having a over heating problem you just can't figure out I would bother with the higher cap. Our cooling system is damn good for a OEM set-up. Nissan definately hit it on the nose when they designed the 3rd gen cooling system. Large capacity radiator, daul fans, daul speed fans goes a long way. Leave it alone, why bother.

Aw, we know Shawn just was just trying to figure out a reason to put on that cap, so he'd have that cool Nismo logo on his radiator!

I would imagine they made them that way because essentially Nismo is for "racing applications" where a car that is pushed very hard can overheat easier. Unless you are doing autocross or road racing, I don't think you need it. But, if you want the cool logo go ahead

I've seen it happen, especially on older cars with already weakened seams.
