What is the wire next to coolant temp sensor

I have a VE and next to the coolant temp sensor is another sensor of some kind that is much smaller and has a single plug. What is this? Mine is kind of loose and I think is corroded. I put some dielectric grease in it hoping that would help the connection but I still don't know what the plug is for. Maybe this is causing my hesitation problems when warm.
