Get a '95 Max. With some luck you can get one for 9.5-10k and have a thousand to mess with on mods.

Acura Legend

I'd have to say a 94 Maxima with low mileage. But if you want a change my choice would be a ACURA LEGEND. I think those are beautiful cars. Give it some thought!

Wholly Crap! My sentiments the same!

The reason I bought a Maxima in 2000 was because I did not have the dough for my dream car:

1995 Acura Legend LS

I am still happy with my 91 SE, but I still salivate whenever I spot a Legend on the road!

Even though I already replied to this same post in the General Maxima discussionn...

Rebuild, rebuild and rebuild.

Getting your tranny and engine rebuilt would be about $5000. New paint, $2000. Thats as good as a new car, with $4000 to play around with.

what's your monthly budget on top of that?
if you use your car and the $11k, you can almost completely pay for a stock 5th gen.

Or you could buy a good condition 3rd gen and just send it to Jim Wolf and have him hook you up with a nice turbo.

I'd wait for the sentra se-r. or you could get a se w/ preformance package right now. Invoice on the se loaded is about 16.5. with that kind of down payment you could pay it off in 2 years or so w/ low payments. Intrest on them ranges 2.9-5.9 depending on how long you finance. Plus most dealers would give you 2-4K on your trade, so you'd be financing even less....

hmm..

11 G's if you sell your car or 11 + your car?

I'd say you can get 4 grand out of your max.... If I'd have that $$ for a car, I'd get a loaded 95 - 96 Maxima with low milage.... However, I will agree with the other guys about the Legend, those things are beautiful... 92-94 SE would be nice too, if you like the body and interior of your car but want more power. Either way, whatever you get, you'll have some $$ for modifications.

If you are looking to put in a banging system and nice rims, you'll probably need about 3-4 grand for those things, remember taxes on cars, insurance, possible things wrong with whatever car you buy.... I'd hold on to the $$$, pick what I'd like most and look for the best deal, keep in mind you want like 5 grand left over for mods/possible repairs... So you can have about 10 grand for your car.

Out of a 95+ Max, 92-94 SE max, or nice 93+ Legend... The 92-94 Max would be the cheapest, you can look for a loaded one with low milage and perfect condition and pay around 8 grand.

i dont know about you guys.....but i'd definitly stay with a max and turbo that bad boy. get a 92-94 SE 5spd....low miles, great condition....and go turbo! i think i'll own a 3rd gen for the rest of my life. i dont need no new car, i'd rather spend the money on my 10 yr old car and make into a beast. then again.......i am a maximaniac

I agree that an Acura Legend would be a nice car or even the Acura Vigor they both look sweet. The Mistubishi Diamante is a great looking car too.

If I'm you I'm putting that 11K down on a 2002 with the 3.5L motor. Save up additional funds for mods in the mean time.
