theft deterrant

I left my lights on and when I tried to jump start it, it starts honking intermittently, like an alarm is going off, I didn't even know the car had an alarm. The car will not even try to start, does anyone know how to reset the alarm. I unhooked the battery to let it charge for several hours and put it back in and it does the same thing, horn honks and will not turn over.

My stock alarm stops when I open the trunk up... So to turn it off I just open the trunk up with the key.

Nah man. Do as Red suggested. When the alarm goes off, simply unlock the drivers side door with key and that will turn it off.

Yes, our Maxes come with factory alarm which goes off if you try to unlock any door without the key or even if you try passenger door WITH the key. The starter kill then engages which is why yours won't turn over....that's the whole point.
