Testing fuel pump?

Is there a way to test the fuel pump without any special pressure testing tools? Is it not recommended that I pull the fuel linefrom the engine side of the fuel filter and catch the ful in a container (if any comes out)?

Cheers,
Matthew

You can check the resistance of the fuel pump with a multimeter. I forget where the connector is, you'd have to check a service manual. You can also check the fuel pump relay (it's in the trunk right behind the middle panel of the trunklid).

Resistance is 1 Ohm

The manual says if the resistance is not .5 ohms then replace the pump. Mine came back with 1.0. The roundness of the number makes me wonder if 1.0 is not the correct number. Could the manual be wrong? I heard the 92 came with 2 different fuel pumps.

Cheers,
Matthew
