Wheel Stud Replacement

Hi,
I recently took my 1990 Maxima to a shop to have a wheel stud replaced. It was on the Passenger Front. About 2 weeks later, there was a horrible grinding noise. It turned out to be a wheel hub bearing and the shop is claiming no responsibility. I thought the whole wheel hub had to come off in order to change a stud and they didn't grease the bearing right. If not, could they have knocked the bearing out of adjustment? I just find it to much of a coincidence that the same hub bearing would go bad on the wheel they worked on. If it is the shop's fault, do you know where I can find information to show the manager?
Thanks for the replies.
Brian

It's likely they messed something up, but I doubt you're going to be able to prove it.

you CAN change the studs without pulling the hub off- just pound them out with a hammer (very hard on wheel bearings!!!!), then use a lugnut and some washers on the other side to pull the new stud into place..

It most likely is their fault, but to be able to prove it was their fault? can't do that without seeing the car at minimum. sorry. good luck.
