Hi my fellow Max freaks!! What is the )2 sensor, what does it do? How often should it be replaced and what are some symptoms of a bad one?
Thanks for your help

THANKS FOR THE INFO GUYS!!! MAYBE I SHOULD HAVE PUT A STUPID OF NO IMPORTANCE POST LIKE " I WASHED MY MAX TODAY" AND WOULD HAVE GOTTEN 6,000 REPLYS TO IT!!!! OR MAYBE A POST OF SOME STUPID MOD LIKE NEON LIGHTS UNDER THE SEATS OR SOMETHING. I NOTICED THAT ABOUT THIS FORUM, THE MORE STUPID THE POST, THE MORE REPLYS YOU GET ! I TRY TO USE THE SEARCH FEATURE WHICH NEVER WORKS ANYWAY.
SO THANKS
J

It is because the same question gets asked like 30 times within a week. People get tired of seeing the same threads over and over and over again. For about a month I hated looking at this forum because almost every other thread was the same topic, just worded differently.

Now I am not saying that I know everything, hell, I barely even know anything about my car and even I was tired of seeing the same crap.

So I know the moderators and old school people were definately tired. They have probably seen every topic discussed at least 15 times. Gets old pretty quick.

Replace it every 60k, it is a normal maintenance item.
if in doubt replace it.

I was just answering your question. Don't hate man. I personally would rather get an answer from one of those sources from google because you can be pretty sure it is a reputable source, whereas you don't always know if you're getting a good answer here. Also, this forum will almost always respond more to a maxima specific thread then one regarding a general maintenance item that can be researched easily on google. If you have any more questions, don't be afraid to ask, but you can find out anywhere how an O2 sensor works. BTW-at least I replied to the thread.
