How to use cruise control? I pressed down the cruise control button onthe highway and release gas pad. It seems the car doesn't maintain the speed.

Also, what are the 3 buttons on the steering wheel for?

No manual, so...

Not a stupid question

Yeah it's not as straightforward as one might guess, but it's still pretty easy.
All you gotta do is click cruise control on the dash but after that you have to click the far right button on the steering wheel, this button is what sets the cruising speed.

For as what the others do, one of them accelerates and one of them slows down. Sorry not that much more detailed but I'm sure these basics will give you an idea.

And of course touching the brakes will deactivate cruise control.

Hope this helps,
Dave

Not sure what year or model you have, but I have three buttons on the steering wheel of a 94 SE. You press the button to the left of the steering wheel on the dash. This turns the system on. The lower button is marked Set/Decel. Press this to set your cruising speed. Press and hold it to slow down. The top button is marked Resume/Accel. If you're already cruising press and hold it to speed up. Like a little gas pedal. The center button is the Cancel button. Use it to turn off the cruise. Once you hit cancel to stop cruising, you can then hit he top button to return to your previous cruising speed. This is what Resume means. To use resume, you must still have the master switch on the dash on with the green indicator light. Hope this helps.

Re: Not a stupid question

Can I safely drive 400 miles with the check engine light on? ( O2 sensor problem)

THank you maxmizd.
My max is 94 GXE. I am very upset these days because I hit a concrete post in the dark when I was backing and some ***** was beeping on me asking me to give the way to him.

Now there is a 3-inch long dent on the rear corner of the trunk, and paint peels off. Bodyshop asks $280 to fix it. ANy idea about anything I can do myself?

That sux about your trunk lid. I'm kinda fussy, so I'd probably just fork over the $280 and get it done. I'm ok with buffing and polishing, but I wouldn't mess with dent repair and painting.

Well, I know that when I push the cruise control button on my dash, the green light in the instrument cluster blinks continually, but I can't get the cruise to set. I've tried all three buttons, but nothing happens. Is this just user error or is there something else wrong that I need to check on? BTW, I've checked the fuses, and they are good.

Is there a fuse for the cruise because mine wont engage either. When it engages there should be a green light on in the insrument panel?

I know there's a green light that blinks 'cruise' whenever I press the cruise control button on the dash. I'm sure that it's the same across the model line. But yeah, there's a fuse for the cruise control. I think Craig has a diagram of the fuse panel. I've seen him post it a number of times.
