new to me

I recently got a 89 se 5spd and have done a few mods:
1.75" drop all around
KYB struts
new steering rack bushings
new clutch
and some MINOR body mods

But I do have a few questions that I cannot figure out or find:

1. I get a popping sound from the front drivers side area when accelerating and decelerating hard in first and second gear only. What the he__ is that?

2. Where can I get a decently priced strut tower bar for the front and rear?

3. I also need to get new rubber for the sunroof- my parts house said that it was a dealer item and only came with the purchase of new glass...$400.

Any help or pointing in the right direction would be appreciated.

Thanx

1. Drive around in a circle, full lock, if it still makes a poping noise it is probably your CV's.

2. You can get the FSTB off Ebay, I have the Otto bar and I love it, it costs more (I think Southwestautoworks.com has them for $50 shipped?). The RSTB is only avaliable threw BlehmCo(Matt93SE) www.MattBlehm.com )

3. Might want to call up Courtesy Nissan (www.courtesynissan.com) and ask them. If you decide to order, mention maxima.org for a discount (I dont remember how much it is).

good luck

I am pretty sure it isn't the CV's, I just replaced them also. the car has 208K on it so it has been thru the ringer. The engine however is real strong and doesn't leak or use a drop of anything. as for the other sites, thanks

Nope, just replaced them this weekend, three out of four were bad. And let me tell you how hard it is to find them for a five spd. I guess I have done more work than previously listed. The only thing I can think of is the control arm bushings, the anti-sway bar bushings or the strut tower top mounts.
The car has always been in Fla so it doesn't have any rust related problems.
I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary wehn I pulled the tranny, but maybe I missed them.
I do know that noise is staring to **** me off though.
