Aftermarket seat replacement

Does anyone have any experience with swapping out the front seats for some aftermarket seats? It seems very few people have tried this on the 3rd gen Maximas, which is odd because I feel our seats are crap. Custommaxima.com is selling some attractive looking seats for $150, but they only come with universal brackets. How much modification would this take?

would you buy a $150 recliner from the furniture store, when most of them out ther estart at $400 for a good one?

Okay, the seats from Custommaxima.com are a little sketchy, granted--does anyone have experience with those seats? As a counterpoint, IKEA is cheap but I'm more than happy with what they offer at their price point.

And if I were to plunk down the hundreds for a seat from Sparco or Recaro I would still get those universal brackets, since neither of them make brackets for the 3rd gen, and I'm wondering what it would take to get those seats in there.

Basically I need to get these crappy, used, dirty cloth seats out and I'm not in love with the other available 3rd gen seats. Nor do I particularly like the leather upholstery kits that people have done group deals on in this forum before. I think some nice Sparco/Recaro-type seats would be good, and was just seeing if anyone had some sage advice.

Back when the search feature worked, I used it to search on seats, but found little help.

Don't know about the 91's but I have a pair of 93's in my max. Got them off ebay for $100. The are really nice a snug. I had to fab the mounts to to fit. The width is the right length but if you line up the fronts the rear mounts are about 1 inch short and vice versa. Just get a few small metal plates, drill the holes where the holes are necessary to mount, and screw the seat down. It's quite easy since each seat only require you to make two brackets since either the front line up and the back is short or the back is lined up and the front is short.

Talking about seats... Anyone knows of bucket seats that would look good with the stock Beige Interior?

Hey matt93, How much did you pay for those corbeau seats? Those look tight! Do they come in different colors? 2 toned?
