when i start in 1st gear theres a whinning like when you sometimes hear on standard cars when they reversing, kinda like a supercharger (no, my car is not supercharged). i dont hear it in any other gears. im just wondering if this is normal. btw, its a 92 5 spd se.

 

my 93 does the same thing, its actually louder than the engine

 

My car also does it a little, but not very noticable. Reverse is much louder. My guess is that it is normal.

 

my 90 did that in first and second gear after i replaced the bearing...

 

most likely just gear noise, mine does it too (or should i say did.. last time i drove it was a month ago )
