Knock sensor question

To those of you who had the problem with the knock sensor.
At what temperature did the problem start occuring?
Only at normal operating temp? or as soon as the car started to warm up?

it's acting up. I'll test it with the resistor first to confirm then maybe I'll fix it.

well, at least you know where to go to buy one.

This will be the first post where someone didn't say, "ask Internetautomart about pricing on that..."

it could just be the harness.

pull the knock sensor harness off and clean it. the sensor itself should NOT be bad. but just to make sure clean the contacts and test resistance.

Yeah, the culprit is mainly the sub-harness. Measure the resistance at the subharness to ground, if its over 600 K-ohm then its probably the subharness. Mine was 5 Meg-ohm

Is this problem with the knock sensor mostly an SE thing, or does the VG also have a problem with it?

Measure its resistance and you'll find out
