Trouble with strut install

Ok..I'm doing struts on my car. It's about time since I can compress them with my pinkie finger. Anyways on the front lower strut mounting bolt, (the one into the spindle) I can't get it out no matter what I do. I've hit it with an impact, heated it, Tried to drill it out but my drill was taking forever just to get it less than an inch, Hit it with a sledge hammer.....nothing. Any other ideas?? It's the only thing holding me up. I'm not in a super hurry but I need it out so I can get the new ones in. I'm just about ready to go to the salvage yard and get a different one. HELP!!!!

not intending to insult you or anything, just want to confirm the obvious: you are using a spring compressor right?

if it's not rounded off...go get a breaker bar and a heavy walled pipe and it should come off.

if you're referring it to not sliding out of the spindle...use a small jack and push up on the lower control arm. this gets the tension off the lower bolt and if you didn't bend it...the bolt should slide out.

The spring is already off of there. I'll try the jacking up of the control arm. Part of the problem is that it's a northern car and everything has been rusted good on there. I've fought with everything. I got the nut off the one side already and the pring is out of there. I just need to get that one bolt out but it's frozen on there good.
