what to do with maxima.

hi guys. im new on maxima.org and i know i prolly sound like a newbie ... but that aside. i have a 92 nissan maxima SE stick.i had to deactivate my VTC solenoid by grounding it cuz it would make a loud loud ticking sound. other than that the car is in great condition. cept need to get my left tail corner of car painted had a lil hit and run afta i bought it (i was drinking so i wasnt driving but i guess not all of us follow that rule, and then they took off so i dont know who did it ! ) i have a WAI installed.. and a short shifter... tonite i switched my bulbs so that my ambers stay on. havent decided wether to keep it that way or not. but my question is what else can i do to my car ... for a cheap price. the car runs pretty nice. but before i had an acura legend and the maxima dont impress me that much so id like to upgrade it... any tips>?

Hey dude, welcome to the org. You got the best of the 3rd gens, the VE 5spd. Too bad about the VTC's buts still a car you'll fall in love with.

For performance, Y-pipes are supposed to be the best bang for the buck mods. I have one but its not installed yet so i dont speak from experience. I guess that and an underdrive pulley, FTSB, and intake..which you have.

Post up some pics!

Edit: http://www.warpspeedperformance.com. is THE place to get Y-pipes.

I'm very curious about the legend, could you do a quick comparison of it and max? from your perspective what weakness and strengths do you see about the legend? Just wanting some insight on the car.

Thanx

legend = heavy boat, sh1tty to install a stereo in, boat (atleast the 89 I was working on). Decent car, but I'd take the maxi hands down (and most of my friends would aswell)

I had an 88 legend 2dr before the Max. It was quicker but then again it didn't have a heat soak problem.

a legend is the kind of car that shouldn't go fast. it should be black with black tint and huge chrome rims. mafia car ya know? Maybe I'll do that later on.......I like the max a lil better tho, faster and not related to the honda brand

emporiahyw, just go to maxima.org and start reading through some of the FAQ's and stuff. I think there is some writeups on some different mods you can get. Another good site is 4dsc.com. According to some .org members, a y-pipe will shave .3 off your quarter mile, not too shabby

Oh yeah, here's another mod I forgot to suggest:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...477561644&rd=1

You'de better get it at this price before someone else sees it on here and buys it.
