rear tail light fuse blowing

For some reason all of a sudden tonight my rear tail light fuse
blows???????? Well It controls your dash lights corner lights etc..
Does anyone know why this is happening ? I can put a knew fuse in
and it takes like a minute and then it blows. I did the corner light rewirer
about two weeks ago. But i did a clean job on it except cover the red wire back
BUT I cut it clean so would not think its that. HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLPPP!!!!!!!!

well somthing is shorting out.. i dont know if thoes corner lights are on the same fuse as the dash/tail light fuse, but i would check every part of that re wire.. make sure the wires arent hitting eachother too....
did u install anything interior?? radio... neons..chrome skull shift ***** with red LED's for eyes....
have u check the tail lights? i would check every single wire going to each harness/bulb and ur bound to come across a wire shorting out on somthing. goodluck

redo the corner rewire. that happened to me. too much wattage for that relay/fuse to handle (did the uber-bright corners a-la MrGone)

cover every single junction with liquid elec. tape too. helps a bunch.

well I havent got anything other than the dimmer wire for the radio
in the itererior that has anything to do with that fuse. I guess the dimmer
wire is with it too, because it dont dim anymore. But ill start checking all those places. If i redo the corner light wiring what should I do to it. saying that its too much watage

Very common problem. Either the rear lamp sockets are melting and shorting out, or less likely a bad rear bulb, or a cornering light rewire attempt, or improperly installed radio, or maybe the dimmer switch or light switch on the column. I think all have been listed as a possiblity when I had the problem and searched a year ago. Sometimes it was a radio or cornering light rewire-and didn't show up for a length of time. Then again, it could be the rear lamps/sockets.

Yeah man, that sucks to have that fuse blow. I was on my way down to oregon at 10pm when mine blew. No taillights and no dashlights or corners. Had to starting using hazards after people were constantly flasking me HA! I had no idea at all........Luckily, I remembered somone saying something about the fuses on the .org

I would not recommend the 25amp fuse. You do not want to burn out a wire somewhere, besides the risk of fire, you would then get to find a needle in a haystack somewhere else. I would undo the corner rewire first- I think some people have had trouble with it. When my rear light socket went bad, 10 amp fuses would break quickly.

Likely it is the corner rewire or the rear lamp sockets. I think all the turn signals work normally with that fuse burned out, and I think the brake lights work with the fuse burned out-verify that. But if that's true, you could drive safely during the day with that fuse out. Of course, at night you wouldn't have rear corner lights.

Well i got around to checking it out today. all it was a bad tail light
socket. So off to the junk yard I went got it put it back and I put my 10 amp
fuse bad in with no problems. The corner light rewire was fine. Thanks again

It's YOUR STEREO. Check your wiring, chances are it's not grounded properly. I had the same problem and everyone told me it was the tail lamp sockets.

I rewired my corner lights and mine never blew, but when I did someone elses, I had the ground wire connecting to something wrong and it kept blowing, check the wiring diagram a couple times.
