Fuel Injector Identification

I'm looking to replace my #5 injector since its intermitantly not firing, but I'm not sure if it's a blue or black dot. I read in the FAQ's that its on the harness connector, but I can't seem to find it. I looked on both the injector connector and the harness itself, but no luck. Do I have to pull it out, or am I just looking in the wrong place? Any help is appreciated.

By the way, here is a pic....

Front Injector

Neither, the VE has only 1 injector type in it.
it's the same injector as the VQ takes
and I do not recommend going rebuilt on them (or any nissan) becuase there has been an update done to the new one's that the remans lack.
I've already done 5 out of 6 cylinders on mine and had to replace one of the remans so far (put new in on 2)

Hmm, all of the parts stores that I called list both blue and black dots for the VE. Should I just go with one of them, or just ask for a VQ injector?

funny thing, bosch (OE) only assigned one number to em.
The VG OTOH has multiples.
Take my advice don't go to autozone, et al, to buy an injector, find someplace with somebody who knows.

Ok, I'll go with the one without the dot, I believe it's #96E00. Thanks!

unplug anyone of your 6 injector electrical harness and take a look, the dot should be there around the connector area. They're all accessible without too much removal efforts. Surprisingly, all of my injectors got virtually no dots at all, a few of them look like they got yellow dot on it. I think they're all yellow dots and got fade away overtime. What the hell? Anyway, it doesn't matter. It's working alright for a while and recently I just had it rebuilt by Witchchunter performance (www.witchhunter.com) so I am in the process of putting everything back together now. Not fun at all.

it's on the injector itself on the top of the connector.

consider yourself warned on rebuilt nissan injectors.
BTW for all concerned about why I say not to use reman look at this injector:

notice the location of the inlet?
the original puts it higher.
Which is probably what causes the commonality of the failure on the original ones.

Of course some people like doing double labor

internetautomar: where would you go to purchase a new injector? I clicked on your link and it only has reman on the page for injectors.

Like everyone else here I have a bad injector and already had it replaced with a reman and 1 year later still having problems.

thanks for the correction, Brian. Good point. I don't feel like posting the pictures of my fuel rail or the injectors inself. But Brian was right, the stocks side feeder location is way higher than the rails flow tunnel. Probably 1 cm higher than the newer Bosch. Damn, only if I could win a lotto cuz 110 * 6 is $660. That's around 11 Benjamins, right? Damn, I seriously need to win the lottto!!!!!

wait a min. why should I pay $660 for 6 new injectors, when I could easily find an aftermarket fuel rail with a flow tunnel that match the side feeder of the stock injector instead? I am sure they're running around $50 for the rail. Common now, they're only made of scrap metal. They can't be that expensive??? Do you have such rails in stock? Or think you could fabricate one? Matt, you there? Think you could come up with a solution? Then again, I've spent so much times on this stupid project already. I am calling it a day!!!!

no need for an aftermarket rail.
the stock one flows plenty.
and the feed was moved down to cut down on problems with the injectors.
