I noticed that my brake pedal is very soft. I realized that there is alot of air in the lines. I checked chilton's and it said I have to bleed each wheel in a certain order. Someone told me when they bleed their brake lines, they open all the bleeder screws and leave it. that way all the air comes out, I think he's an idiot, but hey.... I read somewhere that you can bleed the system from the master cylinder, if so how can I do that. The write up didn't explain on how to bleed from the master cylinder. thanks fellas.

 

ok your talking about 2 different things here.

1. is to bench bleed the master cylinder. you do that before you install it on the car, once its on the car your basically just bleeding the brakes.

2. is bleeding the brakes

I just stick to the tried and true grab a helper and go at it. Maybe some day I'll buy some speed bleeders, but meh. That reminds me I need to flush my brakes hehehe.

Also who ever told you about that whole opening all the bleeders and leave it, NEVER EVER ride in their car, or let them touch yours

 

you've got it in print in the manual. you know it works. use that method and don't listen to the idjit that told you to open them all.

Don't listen to your friend. Just bleed the brakes the traditional ol' way and smack your friend in the head next time you see him. And for the love of God: DO NOT LET HIM WORK ON YOUR CAR!!!

 

thanks fellas. I looked at him and realized why his truck looked the way it did. I bought a one person brake bleeding kit the other day and tried it...... it sucks. I spent more time pumping the stupid thing than removing air from the lines. You guys are right, the best way is to bleed them the old fashion way. correct me if i'm wrong, when the second person is pressing on the pedal, I have to close the bleeder screw before the pedal touches the floor right?

 

Thats pretty much how I do it. You dont really have to (I've never seen instructions say to do that) but I do just cause.
