Not sure what the speedometer coil is, but if its the speed sensor its in the tranny, you could replace that, it isnt hard.
Same with the rear brakes.![Smilie](https://maxima.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
If you need a manual for that, lmk and I can refer you to one

You can change the rear brakes if your a novice - am assumng you want to just change either the shoes or the discs & not do a brake conversion!
If you have discs, should take 30-45 minutes - remember you need to wind the rear calipers in - they don't just push in like the fronts. If you have drums, work with one side at a time and take your time - use the other side as a reference to how everything all goes together. Check that the wheel cylinders aren't leaking - if they are, replace them with new or you'll contaminate the new shoes - and that's just a waste of time. Use BrakCleen or equivalent once the old shoes are off & remember to grease the backing plate where the shoes rub.
Should take 30 minutes per side but can take much, much longer - esp for a first timer.
Good luck
