Error code 51 anybody

i'm doing the self diagnosis and i've counted the blinks 10 times and even have had my friend count them, but we keep getting error code 51 which is undefined, anybody ever got this before and have any idea what it could be. (basically my engine idles rough, like the stearing wheel shakes, and acceleration off of dead stops is almost nonexistant. the problem used to comes and go (for 10 or 15 min. everymonth) but now it has been doing it for 3 days strait.
-thanks

are you turning the potentiometer on the ecu all the way clockwise? are you leaving it there and thinking you can drive it?

could be a lot of things... since you've obviously read the code wrong, take a look at this site. it should help you on how to pull the codes...

you're using the 4th gen info. use my site... the ecu is on the pass. side footwell! follow the code instructions there and you will see... dont use the CEL either.. use the 2 led's on the ecu.

One of your injectors is dead, you arent supposed to use cleaner with them either. just let the car idle and start unplugging injectors to see which one is dead (the one that doesent make a difference when unpluged is dead) Plug them back in after you unplug them so your running on that cylinder again too BTW.

when you replace them be sure to buy ONLY new ones as the design has been updated.

Its not hard at all to tell which one is missing, just unplug them until you find the one that makes no difference, then test the connector with a noid light to make sure its not just a broken wire or something.

The hard part is installing it, its not hard, it just takes time. You have to remove the upper and lower intake manifolds and mostly everything attached to get at them. Pick up a couple cans of intake cleaner and clean everything up while your in there.
