give me some advice on this problem!!!

so i have a prob with my steering. when i get on the gas on the highway, i feel the steering get "loose" n pull the opposite direction. real violently too. even if im going aroun corners, if i squeez the gas alittle it it pulls to the opposite direction i've noticed it gettn worse and stronger. almost made me loose control the other day. even when the car is backn up or just turning the wheel, i hear a clank that seems to be comming from the drivers side. sounds like somthing is loose. even if i go over a small pothole or uneven road i hear it n the steering shifts from pulling one way to pulling to the opposite way. now i know i have to do my steering rack n pump, would this have anything to do with it? someone pliz help out!!!!

Um take it to an repair facility TODAY. You got something broken under there. ie.. tie rod, ball joint, control arm bushing is blown out. Strut mount is broken, conbination of anything above.....

Nope its your Lower Control arm bushing Im POSITIVE theres no real way to fix it cuz no one sells them u can try getting one from interautometer but i dunno if it is exact fit, (Here comes the best part Jeff) I made one out of aluminum to take the place of the rubber but it creates road noise but stops the clunking and keeps the car tracking straight if i find a solid fix ill let you know, Im trying to fabricate something out of a 1996 Cutlass Control Arm bushing.

Um wow. But Kaleb at Courtesy Nissan already sells new Nissan bushings. Matt93se pioneered the replacement bushing replacement about 2 years ago vs replacing the entire control arm. I think there is poly bushings available also.

The poly bushing used are from a 4th gen.
The "bigger" bushing does require some "adjustment" to make it work though
yes I sell those too

Ok I'll get that checked tommorrow. I got a new motor in there but the body just hit 180k. Runs great. U know what's funny though, in the winter I blew my tranny n when I did the passenger front side was slammed like I had lowering springs but only on the front passenger side. After I got the car back, it was all set. Never happened again. What u think that was? And jeff, u know how much those bushing cost to get put in or to purchase

Dude, start with the ball joint! just replaced my struts and found a very bad ball joint which made the car launch into on coming traffic when hard on the gas...also had a loose swaybar mount which accentuated the problem. I don't doubt the your control arm bushings are shot as well but start with easier fixes first.

if you hear a clunk upon accelerating and deccelerating, it would be a bad ball joint. if u dont hear anytthing btu the car still pulls to the side suddently, check the control arm bushing. just have em both checked .
