I got 94 Maxima & the lower passenger door is getting rusty.

It looks very bad in a white color max. Any suggestions?

Sand the spot down to bare metal, wipe it with some rubbing alcohol and use some rust primer. Then you will need to get some paint that matches the colour of your car and paint the area. If you want it done right take it to a body shop, but that will cost you.

I found some rust under the hood and was thinking about applying some RUST REMOVER after sanding - instead of the alcohol ...

Just to clear up the confusion

The alcohol is just to clean the area and make it grease free so the rust paint or primer adheers better to the metal.

Just remember that rust remover is also paint remover.. it's a strong acid that dissolves the rust.. mean stuff.

Also, you might want to check if this is only surface rust or there is a hole. If there is a hole, you might want to apply fiberglass (bondo rusts too fast) to the area, sand it, prime it, then paint it.
