interior door lights

interior door lights

why is it that sometimes my interior lights on the door and roof do not turn on when I open the doors. do i have an electrical problem or it it something simplier?

Yeh, I would assume it's an electrical problem. My light in the front does that sometime, but it was becuase the parts holding the electrical bulbs in place were loose. One still is. hit it a little, it stays on. Soon I'm going to have to open it again and bend it properly. Dunno if this is your problem.

I checked your cardomain and it might be the fact you have those huge output bulbs in there...

i was thinkin the same thing as you DMad8724...maybe i should pull them and see if it stops?(now I wish I got the HID's) but the car is not actually on when this problem occours, it actually happens when I open the doors after unlocking it, but it still doesn't do it everytime.

take the lights apart to see if the wires are damaged from the extra heat given off by those hyperwhites.

99% of problems are bad earth from door switch. Check the tightness of the locating screw - if it's loose, that'll do it. Otherwise, replace switch from one off a junker. Also, you haven't specified which doors are causing the problem. The switch on the drivers door is different to all the others as it has 2 wires as opposed to a single wire on the other 3.
