Battery Relocation

Battery Relocation
I'm thinking about relocating my batt. to the trunk for weight distribution, i was just wondering if anyone has done this, and if so how much cable did you need to do it? Thanks

Better front to rear weight distribution, the front of a car is obviously heavier than the rear because the engine is there, so by moving the battery to the trunk, usually the passenger side to offset the drivers weight, it gives the car a better front to rear weight distribution, and the lower you mount it the more you lower the center of gravity in the car. An added bonus is the fact that it unclutters the engine bay.

I just did it and i will post pics if you want me to! you'll need to run at least two 4 gauge wires. reason be is so that the current runs faster then just doing one fat wire. then get a distrubuter block like a amp one to run the smaller wires. i did 3 in 4 out on the block and it runs perfect.. make sure you rap the wire in something so you dont get static in you speakers.

If you could post pics, that would be great, i'm pretty sure i know what i'm doing, but a few pics wouldn't hurt. Did you notice anything from relocating it or is it just one of those little things that help, but you don't really notice. Also did you have any negative effects from doing it?

i didn't notice anything myself however between driving it stock and relocating the battery i didn't get to drive it for nearly 8 months due to some trouble (idiocy on my part) with the turbo swap.
the only negative effects i've noticed is the starter seems to have a harder time cranking the engine. might want to use 2 gauge wires for the main power instead of 4 just to play it safe.
this is the only picture i could find. this is how i ran the wires through the firewall. i had to use black tape as a grommet because the only grommet that was remotely close was a 1/2 inch grommet yet it was too big and was a huge pain in the butt trying to get in there since its so tight. i have the black tape wrapped thickly enough that i have worries of it cutting through to the wire. if it does though, it is fused to it would just blow the fuse and i'd be safe.
