struts

My dad purchase a 1989 maxima recently with 86K miles on it. It has something wrong with the struts I think. I haven't gotten a chance to look at it myself so I can fix it. Isn't there some reason the struts are real expensive on this car. I warned my dad about it, but he didn't listen. I think I remember reading something about $1000. I looked up the struts and they are $100. I can't remember what the deal is though.

Some GXE maximas had an electronic suspension as an option. If that's the case then yes, the struts are absurdly expensive. The $100 struts you saw were replacements for the "regular" suspension.
