Looking at Spring Options.

Well, I just pretty much wrapped up converting my 2nd gen from 4 wheel lug to 5 wheel lug. I had to use a bunch of 3rd gen suspension parts to do it, but by doing so, I lost the ability to use my ST springs I have in the rear. So I'm doing a little research, and need a little help. If you guys can answer a few questions, that would be great:

1) What spring options are there for a 3rd gen, including how much of a drop?

2) How do these springs ride, are they overly stiff, soft, etc?

3) What are some of your opinions about these springs? Which do you prefer?

Thanks!

S

I second the Eibachs. They drop the car just enough to get rid of most fender gap, and the handling is great. The ride is a bit harsher than stock, but you can get used to it fairly easily.

So far, I've driven jeff92se car around, and he had eibachs. So far I've really liked the ride. I'm already use to having a stiffer suspension, but at the same time I don't want to have my teeth chatter from every bump on the road. So far I'm leaning towards the Eibachs.

As for struts, I'm already running KYB GR2's. My previous setup was with ST springs (1.5" drop), and they were an awesome combo...considering my choices were limited.

Thanks guys! I went ahead and got the Eibachs, along with some camber bolts and ball joints because I need them. Thanks to interautomart, I ordered through him. Always like to buy from a fellow org member if I can!

Has anyone tried the B&G springs yet?
they also are a variable rate like the intrax and eibach but a bit cheaper.

Well I got the front Eibachs in...a little surprised by them...you can read more here:

http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=319177

iansw use to have B&G's on his 4th gen...pretty decent ride, but the rears sagged really really bad to the point his rear end was almost dragging on the ground.
