Two-Tone Paint Job?

Well, after finally landing a job, and having nothing to really spend my money on except my max...I've started dreaming.

I worked this up in photoshop, just messing around, my car is gold and I was thinking about a two tone. Gold on top, Black on the bottom where the rocker and under-bumper line already is, and a brown color in the middle...what do you think? Of course it's lowered with some Moda R6s, clear tinted corners, e36's you can't see And for some reason I have that nissan thing stuck in my head, I think I've seen it before...but I dunno.

The brown color came out a little green, don't know why.

Change the colors - that's too mid '80s American (2-tone gold) mixed with Japanese Domestic (the decal!). From a design point of view, if you do a 2-tone paint job on those lines, you're visually splitting the car in half and makes it look like the water line of a ship.
Not sure about the US, but in NZ, the early base model max's had med grey painted under the bumpers & sills (why? cheap stone resistant paint?).
Nice try though - good to see people trying something different & lucky that you used photoshop first!

I like the look of the car, but the two tone paint job isn't very fresh. It reminds me of those crappy Camrys that Toyota put out about 4 or 5 years ago. Also, the Maxima kind of stands out because it doesn't really have much badging -- nothing on the fenders, the hood, the sides. It is a car that sort of defines itself by what it is, so the "NISSAN" thing isn't really necessary, IMO.

Anyway, you should consider staying with the stance, wheels, tint, clears, E36s, etc., that you have, but I wouldn't do anything for color. Just do a good detail on it and keep it waxed. For the cost of a good paint job, you could easily sell your car and take the rest of the money and buy a VE 5-speed.

BTW -- I like the "water line of a ship" analogy Nismobaron.

Lately the only 2toners I see cruisin are the mexican rigs with froggin wheels. I'd recomend a kit of some sort and some goooood looking wheels.
