Quick Strut Bar Question

I remember seeing on here a while ago that the strut bar from either the 4th or 5th generation Maxima would work on the 3rd, but I forgot which one... I looked for a while, but i dont remember where i saw it... anybody know? thanks...

i got mine on ebay for $24 shipped. it fit just fine. get the 5th generation one. other people get the otto strut bar which looks better but is twice as much.

the thing is the cheaper one's usually use the curved bracket which hits the A/C hose
whereas the otto IIRC has the straight brackets.

That is correct. I had the cheap bar (still have it sitting in my office) and put the OTTO bar on...not because it looked better (which it does) but because it has the straight up bracket that clears the ac hose without moving it. Dont get me wrong...you can move the hose and it be fine but I just didnt want to take the chance of it breaking. Living in the south I need AC.

another problem that i experienced with the 5th gen ebay fstb(at least with the one that i bought) is that the hood needs a slight push to be closed and doesn't close flush with the fenders.

I have had no problems like that with mine and after a year of driving with the FSTB setting on the AC line, I have had zero problems. I looked for signs of cutting through the insulation stuff, but didn't find anything, except where I ripped it with an allen wrench once.
